Arrival Procedure

7:30AM Breakfast Served in Cafeteria
7:30-7:55AM Drop off students-all students enter through Cafeteria
7:55 AM Visitors enter through Main Entrance
Bus Drop Off General Education behind school building-enter through Cafeteria
Bus Drop Off Special Education in front of Annex-enter through Annex entry

 

Dismissal Procedure

2:35PM Walking students grades 1, 3, 4, 5 exit from main entrance.
Grade 2 students exit from first floor exit and depart up stairwell to Lincoln Street
PreKindergarten and Kindergarten students exit from Annex entrance

PM Bus Pick up-General Education behind school building
PM Bus Pick up-Special Education in front of Annex

 

Visitor Procedure

(Board of Education Policy 9150)
All visitors enter through Main Entrance (180 Lincoln Street)
All visitors report to Main Office and sign-in
Obtain permission to visit locations other than Main Office

 

Breakfast Procedure

7:30AM Students enter Cafeteria from courtyard
Breakfast is provided to all students
At approximately 7:50AM staff accompany students in grades 1, 2, and 3 to gymnasium. Grade 4 and 5 students remain in cafeteria. Kindergarten students are accompanied to hallway behind gym. Pre-Kindergarten students are escorted to 2nd floor for teacher pick up. All
Staff pick up classes by 8:05AM and move to homerooms.

7:55AM Breakfast concludes

 

Crossing Guards

City of East Orange provides crossing guards at cross walks of main intersections to provide safe pathways for students to/from schools.
AM guards on duty at 7AM
PM guards on duty until 4PM

 

Parking Procedures

Street parking-follow all East Orange regulations.
Pick up and drop off area designated in front of building with signs and painted yellow line.
PM Dismissal-follow city of East Orange regulations-Please do not double-park or block other vehicles when picking up students.
Limited handicapped parking spaces are designated in front of school
Do not park vehicles behind school or in school driveway

Observe no talking, single file lines, and always bring student attendance cards with updated student information to every drill. Post your fire drill route in your classroom near the classroom door.

22, 23, 24, 25	Out the rear door near Room 22 onto the driveway, up the driveway to Park Avenue.
32, 33, 34	Out the rear doors through the courtyard onto the driveway, up the driveway to Park Avenue.
26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31	Out the front doors of the Annex onto the sidewalk, turn left toward Park Avenue, past the field next to the school.
134, 135	Out the door at the bottom of Stairway #3, through the courtyard onto the driveway, up the driveway to Park Avenue.
238, 239, 335, 336	Down Stairway #3, out the door at the bottom of the stairs, through the courtyard onto the driveway, up the driveway to Park Avenue.
131, 132, 133	Out the door at the bottom of Stairway #2, across the driveway, around the stadium track toward Hart Middle School complex.
242, 243, 328, 330, 332, 333	Down Stairway #2, out the door at the bottom of the stairs, across the driveway toward Hart Middle School complex.
Remaining classes in the Down (or up) Stairway #1, if necessary, out the main entrance main building Lincoln Street, turn right on the sidewalk toward Hamilton Street.
